good price for a 6800. Heard these XFX run hot, so good cooling is needed to overclock it. Would be a better deal if the pipelines unlock.

Who cares about the heat. Cook your eggs on it in the morning.
XFX is world famous for having DOUBLE-LIFETIME warranty.

Oct 7th, 2005 09:35 AM #7Huh? The 6800 vanilla cards run cool compared to pretty much any other cards of that generation (cooler than 6600s, and cooler than X800s)

If you want to avoid a rebate, ATIC has this card for $215. The usual price for this card is about $160-180 USD.

I just bought a BFG Geforce 6200 for $130 after MIR and taxes. I probably wouldn't buy this still as this is online only. I wish I had a CC.

9800pro vs. 6800? pretty large gap. Even the 6600 GT has a huge leg on top of the 9800pro.

For a COMPLETE analysis of all the major AGP cards check out TomsHardware Summer AGP Guide . Shoes all the major benchmarks for games at different resolutions and AA/AF. Great for comparisons.
I love my 256MB 9800 Pro, never even bothered to OC it.
