How to avoid being scammed.

Suggestions anyone? I'm starting to use ebay and such, how can i ensure I dont get scammed.

only buy from ebay sellers with many many ratings, use your credit card.....

Read through the guy's posts and check their senority but don't preclude people who are 99.3% or not power sellers. There could be mitigating circumstances of why there's negatives on that page. Maybe a picky prat of a seller or something. I think you can PM fellow buyers from the same seller and ask of their experiences as well.

my rule is 40-50 feedback 100% positive
50-200 feedback 99% positive
200+ 98% positive

always purchase with credit card via paypal. Always use common sense, if something is too good to be true, Then it probably IS.

if the person has under 40 feedback and is 100% you should read the comments and items that the person has sold to see if any fixed feedbacks.

I agree, there are a$$holes out there that ruin people's feedback on purpose.

You want to make sure your paypal account does not get hacked. Log out after each use. NEVER access paypal through e-mail links.

Don't sell to anyone outside of Canada or the US. Don't fall for those Nigerian scammers, with their 1000 word emails with horrible spelling and grammar telling you that they want to buy your item for their son that is in school an needs it badly, and he'll send you a money order
