How to best deter against car thieves?

I'm getting a new Civic and was wondering what you guys would recommend to deter car thieves the best?

Wheelbar? Alarm? How about those $200 tracking devices off ebay?

I know someone's gonna crack "Nothing's gonna stop a car thief if they really want your car" so I'll say it first.

BTW I noticed today some scratch marks on my car body and in front of that, I opened the driver door and noticed paint scratches off the side. I think some ****er was trying to crowbar his way into my car at some point.

if u park ur car in a garage/parkage normally, a sensative shock sensor tied to a decent car alarm system will deter most of the thiefs when they try to get into the car

most of the time, noise is enuf to deter thiefs

Do we have a product that lock gas pedals? I remember when i went to Asia there are such products. I know it cant stop thieves but it will slow them down significantly.

I think the best way to prevent car thieves are some freaky puppets in the back seats.

I would be freaked out driving alone at night with those in my backseat, on a lonely quiet road.

most of the time, noise is enuf to deter thiefs

shock sensor is probably your best bet

the club is easy to remove and i think theives are more attracted to those cars cause they think the car has no alarm

2-way car alarm. A good one too. If you can't afford that type, get a regular alarm but make sure there's a bright and visible blinking led.

Boomerang is a hit and miss. I've known people who's gotten their cars stolen and Boomerang was unable to track while others who have had success.

This or LoJack or whatever its now called in Canada. It wont really deter, but youd probably get your car back in some form or another.

If youre getting a new Civic coupe, thats a really hot car, watch where you park it...
