How can I prove ownership of a Vehicle?

as title.
My friend bought a car 2 years ago, but she left it in her garage, so insurance policy and license stick is expired.
She has VIN number of the vehicle and her driver's license.
where can she go to get the proof of ownership? and what does she need

thanks

Go to local MTO. Request long green reg form and enter the VIN of vehicle. Pay the 10$ required and an ownership including plate portion will be issued. may have to notate ownership was lost to clerk.

Did she actually do the title transfer at MTO when she bought the vehicles?
She should have the vehicle ownership/registration paper (green paper) showing the owner's name.
Even if it is expired, you can still go and renew it.

I believe you can also get a temp permit for $15, but bring your expired registration paper with you.

If it's a matter of getting a replacement ownership slip, MTO charges $20 now.
