Same principal for your filter. In a shallow pan, fill up to beyond the level of the filter pleats, soak the pleats with the cleaner, roll it around, tap the pleats to shake off any large particles. Take a hose, flow water from the inside to get rid of any of the other dirt and particles, blow out with air (from inside) make sure it is dry and spray lightly with the oil getting oil on all surfaces of the pleats. Lightly... this is not a case of more is better.

It seems like the instructions from the cleaning kit manual. did you copy for there?
Just take out the filter, sweep off all the dust, apply the cleaning application, use a water hose, gentily flow the water on the filter and leave it, wait it dry, then re-oil it...and put it back.
The hardest part is to take the filter out....especially when the CAI is low at the bottom of the car and the car is dropped, so you can't take it out underneath. (at least that's my case, gotta find a empty space in the engine bay to pull the filter out. )
Good luck.

Oh by the way, when drying the filter do NOT use a hair dryer or any other heating device, the heat can cause the cotton to shrink (better to be safe!).
The best method is to let it air dry overnight.
