How does Wind's WindTAB work?

I've seen a few threads about this, and I still don't understand it. Here's my current situation..
I want to buy the Samsung Galaxy SIII for $299 with the $40/month plan.
Do I pay the $299 upfront, then, every month, Wind puts a 10% ($4) onto my monthly bill until I pay off the full price of the Galaxy SIII?
Any other clarity would be very helpful.

Thanks a lot.

Yes - that is how it works - but at that rate it will be 8.3 years to pay the phone off...

I believe it is capped at three years (when they reduce the amount owing to zero)

I'm looking to go on a tab plan with Wind too. Does anyone know if you are allowed to pay off the remainder of your tab with cash if you decide you want to switch to a new provider?

you are required to pay off the remainder of your tab, it's not optional.

Do I have to pay off that tab month by month with the 10% of my bill or can I just pay the rest of my balance in one payment though? So for example, say I have $100 left on my tab after 2 years, can I just pay them $100?

yes, you should pay off all of them in one payment.

Can anyone verify that?

so are we better off buying our own phone from craigslist/ebay instead of wind TAB?

Yes. Wind phone prices are heavily over priced.

I was a Koodo customer, and used my Koodo tab to buy the S2x and transferred to Wind. Wind phones are ridiculously overpriced. Also, i wouldn't pay too much for aws phones.

Its more like, every month you attempt to get through to Wind on the phone to have your bill corrected. "you will see the correction on your next bill"....lol, don't think for a chance that will ever happen!
