how to file business gst/hst return?

I have a Canadian business and last year we purchased beverages and exported to outside of Canada. But i was charged GST/HST when i paid for the products. I want to file GST/HST return now. How do i recover this tax back? in which field should i enter this amount?

If you paid GST/HST and you want to get it back then you have to claim it as Input Tax Credit (ITC) in your GST/HST return. But before you do that you have to register for the GST/HST. If you were not registered for the GST/HST when you purchased the supply then you won't be able to claim the ITC. If you are using paper form then you can claim it in line 106. Keep in mind though, once you register for GST/HST even if you are small supplier (Under 30K gross revenue in previous 4 quarters) then you also have to collect and remit the GST/HST on taxable supply.
