How to find a real estate agent

I'm about to start looking for my first house.

How does everyone normally go about finding a real estate agent?

I emailed from of the brokers but never heard back. I assumed they would have had one of the agents in their group contact me.

I'm looking in the Oakville / Burlington / Mississauga area.

She handled my house purchase in Oakville and my coworkers purchase in Mississauga. I would definitely use her again.
