Over the past 10000 km or so (i have a spreadsheet), I get 10.6 l/100 km in mixed driving. I don't think I'm an aggressive/fast driver, but who does? :-)
Yes, it's a 2.2 litre 5SFE engine. It's a safe car for its era, but no side airbags. The resale value is above average, but it's a 9 or 10 year old car, dude! Make sure you find out if the timing belt has been changed - there will be a sticker on the cover.Last edited by Anonymouse; Jul 21st, 2008 at 07:53 AM.

My brother had a 98 4 cyl Camry and was able to get as much over 900km on a tank of gas with hwy driving(he drives like a granny) pretty impressive..he claimed as high as 46-47 mpg under certain conditions.

how much do u think a well maintained 99 Camry CE (115 000km) worth? It comes with power window, power mirror, (no keyless entry), new timing belt, and new michline tires? How much do you think would be a good price to buy it? Thx.

Probably the best place to estimate the price of a used car is trader.ca . Look up similar cars and remember that the prices you see are asking prices, not what the cars actually sell for. Individuals often have an overinflated sense of what their cars are worth, so look at the dealer ads carefully.
Another expensive thing that goes wrong with that particular car is strut mounts - if you hear a clunk from the front end when you go over bumps it's likely that the car needs new struts or mounts. That's $1000 for the parts alone.
