How to get a free HD PVR from Rogers

Many thanks to the OP and latest contributors to the thread.
Read through the last few pages and followed the advice of the people who succeeded. I am a long time customer of theirs with three services.

Once I got transferred to customer relations laid out the bell offer mentioning no contract. She replied that, that offer would include a contract. Focused on being a long time customer who would like to stay. Kept talking with her, was persistent, polite and patient and next thing you know she's asking when would I like to pick it up!

Time to hook everything up.

I called Rogers today and got 2 year HDPRV free on my 2nd attempt.

Last night Rogers offered me 12 months free on HD only. I tried again this morning. First spoke to a customer service that I just bought a HDTV LCD and bell offers 2 years free HDPRV. Requesting Rogers offer me something (Be polite and nice to customer service). But she said Bell's offer only apply to new customer. I told her I don't really want to leave Rogers, however the deal from Bell is really attractive. Then she transfer me to Customer Relations. Customer Relations said we have been customers for over 15years and offer me 24 months HDPRV free right away.

I am happy about it.

I just called the retentions line this morning and the guy told me that they don't have a package like this that can be matched. He told me that only thing he can do is give me a 10% discount. I have rogers cable, home phone, 2 cell phones, and basic cable already. I'll have to keep trying. Thanks to everyone for their advice.

As a Chinese Canadian, I used the Chinese CS line (1-866-406-7239) to get the offer. I just simply told them that I got an offer from Bell. Now, I got 1 HD PVR free for two years.

ROgers rep says that you can't get "HD specialty channel pack" with Basic. They gotta promote you to combo to get that. Is that true? cuz' I just got my first bill and its messed up..

I got it last week without much effort, my own digital box broke and they don't offer repair service. The lady on the phone immediately offer me the 24 months free HDPVR. It's getting easier now according to a lot of other posters here.
