How to get free US magazine subscriptions - in Canada!

Yes, I can vouch for this method too. I have also been using it over the past 6 yrs. Been getting Road and Track, Car and Driver, Stuff, Maxim, FHM...all free! I even have a subscription to Stuff magazine, free of course, all the way until September 2009!

If you have an Amerifriend or relative, just use their address (with permission of course).

I can vouch for this working for me many times in the past couple of years. I recently used this technique to get 1 year of BusinessWeek using unused Northwest flyer miles (earned from taking an occasional survey), and a free year subscription to Men's Health from a Crown Royal U.S.A. promotion (dead now).

BusinessWeek took 6 weeks to process but the Men's Health took only a week to be shown in their records. Men's Health processed so fast that I missed 2 issues, and I emailed them to resend these to my Canadian address.

In both of these cases, because they were new subscriptions, I was worried about how to change the address to Canada online without knowing my subscription number. When changing addresses online, the magazine website's software is smart enough to find you without knowing your subscription number, so no worries. Be very careful to note exactly the email and name and address that you used to sign up for the magazine offer.

tried it with Firefox. Same problem. Do you use a Canadian address? That's what I tried.

Speaking from experience this works with free subscriptions to Ski, Golf, FHM, Maxim, Stuff, Psychology Today, Sporting News, Good Housekeeping, Outdoor Life, Field & Stream and more I can't think of right now. In my case I use an actual USA home address and either call the 800 number in the magazine or change address online at their website or send them email. Keep in mind, depending on the time of month you contact them to change address it can take up to 3 months.

Thanks for the new magazines!

I have tried using the website freebizmag and a few others and instead of changing the address I would put

Ontario, CA (CA in the US being California...as there is really an Ontario, California!)
I would then use the California zipcode and put my own mailing address on the top 2 lines where the long street names go!

As alot of the US forms only take zip codes (I was using 91764) and would put my own (K2G 1N4),

that way the post office would eventually redirect my magazines to Canada!

if this sounds confusing my address would look like this:

Joan Smith
123 Your Street
Ottawa, ON K2G 1N4
Ontario CA 91764

this might or might not work good luck!

You can change the address right away if the magazine's site lets you. The reason why you generally cant is it takes 6-8 weeks for the magazine to receive your subscription info from the "free site" you signed up with.
