I'm buying a new build from newegg.com. Total will be around $1950.

So far as I see, I have two options of bringing it home.

1.) Ship to thelettercarrier (I live in Vancouver), go to Point Roberts, bring it across the border.
2.) Ship to friend, have friend ship to front door in Canada.

So, which option will be cheaper?
1.) More likely than not, $300 worth of taxes.
2.) If my friend values it at <$60 (gifts) and say they're broken parts?


Anyone here been on this road before? What should I do?
