How long did it take me? 3 days.

About every second one I apply for, I get. Easy pickins

Currently applying job from out of province while looking after my new born. It’s tough but don’t have much choice.

Keep chugging along! Don't give up. Reality for most people, isn't like what a few posters here saying they apply to a few jobs and get offers of employment.

It's tough to apply for jobs out of province unless you have niche skills or a superstar in your field

As a hiring manager, I don't interview out of province applicants unless it's for a senior role where there's relocation package

We hire abroad before interprovincial due to expectations. Someone from abroad is committed to moving here as they're applying here and have hopefully thought about moving countries

interprovincial, it seems more as a desperate move to apply to us

Not saying it's impossible, just more difficult than even abroad for some

The last time it took me 1.5 months to find a job. But this is not my specialty, so it took so much time.

Thanks for the reply. I can only clarify that I am willing to relocate in my cover letter... will see if that really works...

Sad truth. A lot of positions end up getting filled internally or by a referral from someone inside the company. That's why it's important to never be complacent; you never know when all of a sudden the company, your position or profession all of a sudden is gone.

I haven't applied for jobs in a while, last couple years I just get calls, sometimes several a week for work.
It all depends on the industry and what you to, I'm sure if I was looking to work as a paper pusher it would take a long time

What type of job are you looking for? The last few months have been pretty slow for me too, but the job postings seem to be appearing more often now. Chin up!!

10% response doesn't seem too bad to me.

That is how I got all my jobs. I knew no one in the firm.
