Until it wears out. Just replacing our old Buick after nearly twenty years, because we're looking at $5k+ to keep it on the road.

Current Corolla is almost 7 years old. I will change it when the next Corolla comes out.
A life spent making mistakes is not only more memorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.

2 years. Always.

My vehicles never depreciate or need anything other than oil changes every 6 months ;)

Too bad insurance costs so much in the GTA :(

This sounds like a genuine query rather than those other threads ( how long after your 2nd car you bought 3rd or how long after your 3rd car you bought forth so on as so forth...) so here we go

Own 2003 Honda Accord bought in 2012 93000 km run... Drives good .. Burns some oil...The car was good looking and I keep it that way so that it doesn't look that old so overall happy..Planning to keep it till I get a major promotion or majorly better paying job... Right now saving for the home...

Own a 96 Ford F250 with the 5.8 litre and auto transmission, long bed regular cab.

I only put on probably 10k km per year and it's only got 135k at the moment so I can envision keeping it for 10+ more years as long as the body holds up that long ( very little rust at the moment)

Even then it will probably only be around 250k, probably less as I will most likely have a company vehicle 2/3 of the month in another couple years.

As long as nothing major comes up and it is still roadworthy I can see myself keeping it. It is just a second vehicle anyways as my girlfriend has a 2008 Dodge Nitro and will drive the new vehicle when we buy one. Her SUV we plan on keeping for 5-6 years as it's still low mileage - 60k as it stands now, will probably look to sell it around 200k and get her into something newer and safer for kids (none at the moment)

Till gasoline is taken off the market or someone smashes into me again at high speed and the car is written off (with no fault of mine and nothing i can do to prevent it).
I wish there was some insurance i could get that would cover the actual cost of a car not the beaters of the same year/mileage that are not well looked after, my car is extremely well taken care of, almost that Rob fellow and his Civic/cars.

Until I can't fix it no more, or half a million kilometers - whichever comes first.

Where do i refuel during the trip? Also my car's ventilation system won't operate correctly and the tires will have no grip, and i have no alternative method of propulsion. In addition the engine won't run and the tires are likely to explode. Finally the brakes won't function.

Peabrains doesn't even own a car and won't comprehend anything you just posted.
