So much interest, and they only let 38000 people attend. They're really dropping the ball on this. Do they think anyone who didn't get a ticket will give a rats ass about Africa (if they don't already)?

Well, you can always do it the e-bay way.. give the tickets away for free, but charge a $40 "shipping and handling fee" or something..

Like I've read on the internet, why doesn't bono do a world tour and give all proceeds to charity? Seriously, work for free! He's already worth numerous millions of dollars. Would you pay 100 to go see bono if you knew 80 bucks of it were going to charity? I might.

Bono spends a huge portion of his free time working for charity causes--more so than any other huge Western pop/rock star I can think of off the top of my head. Also, throwing money blindly at the issue isn't going to solve anything (the original Live Aid proved that), which is partially why Bono is pushing for a clear and transparent process of where the money from aid and debt relief is going. Moreover, what makes you think he hasn't donated large sums of money to various charitable causes already?

Moreover, at least one person has paid $2,000 (U.S. funds) for a scalped U2 Boston ticket that turned out to be fake. And the lower bowl U2 tickets (with the exception of the floor GAs) cost far more than $100 anyway, and all the shows are sold out), so I doubt anyone within the U2 camp cares whether you're willing to pay $100 for a U2 ticket, when thousands of tickets have already been sold for more than that.

How so? Who would you asked/had as part of the line up? Of course it is going be mostly Canadian bands. I think they have done a pretty good job...although I am not a fan of most of the groups/performers. Let's see who you would pick...maybe I'll create a post for it.
