How to merge TomTom Maps in WM5
I have TomTom on my WM 5 HP hx4700
I have a 2 gig CF card on which I have placed maps
I want to drive from Mississauga to Florida and route planning is horrible because I have to load three different maps.
1. Canada
2. Atlantic Mid-East
3. South East
Is there a way to merge these so you can do a door to door routing?
I did a google search but I could not find anything

I don't think merging is possible. I plan the route first using google, then I Navigate to the border using the Google recommendation to cross to the states.
You can use the major road maps (it has all highways in the states except any local road) to navigate to Florida but it's a pain if you go off course.
Then you switch to the detail maps and replan the destination once you're close to it.
This is one of my beef with Tomtom, the other is for using TeleAtlas, which is not as up to date as Navteq.

Is there a better GPS package than TomTom?

Software only?
Iguidance ( Navteq ). I don't have it but using Navteq should have more up to date map.
Delorme Street Atlas
Destinator SP/PN
Mapopolis (trial available)
Garmin. It's probably the best of the software, but you can't use other GPS but a Garmin GPS unit, be it bluetooth or CF.
Base on my research, I think Garmin and Mapopolis are the only company that post the map updates often.
I also have a Magellan Roadmate 300 which you can cut the map to whatever size you choose for the area you want to travel.

I am now trying to compare iGuidance and Destinator.
I like TomTom for simplicity and ease of use but I don't like the fact that you need to flip between regional maps. But then again how oftern do I travel between regions?

voices in TT nav 5 are different from mobile 5
aparrently, you have to change the bit rate for the files from 22 to 16 to work on S60 smart phones. anyways, i tried some celebrity voices and it sucks, it's just an immitation, not the actual person.
