How much does it cost to lease a kiosk in a mall?
I'm planning to open a kiosk in a mall in Halifax/Dartmouth NS, probably at Micmac Mall.
How much should I expect to pay?

I think the only way to tell is give them a call and write back.
A kiosk in the GTA can easily cost 3k-5k per month plus percentages of course.

Here is a thread with a similar question:

Unfortunately only someone who has dealt with the specific mall you want can help you out. I'd highly recommend contacting them if you are interested and they can give you an idea of the costs associated with it and restrictions placed upon these vendors.

Wow - that's expensive. We just went to look at a 2800 sqft ground floor retail property on a major arterial road a couple minutes away from a subway... and THAT monthly rent was only about 3300/month all in.

It's not about space, it's about Value. The mall location will have a way more foot-traffic/potential customers. More potential customer = higher value. Sure you have many people driving by that roadside, but how many of them are actually shoppers? In the mall, everyone is there to shop, so everyone is a potential customer.

2800 sqf for $3300 means it's considered a bad spot. I have a unit on the office floor of a mall and it's 1600 sqf and it costs about $3300. I also have another unit in an office building 3rd floor and it's 2000 sqf and it costs about $5000.

Sorry - to clarify, I'm not commenting on the value of the kiosk, but was just adding my own personal emotional feeling the moment I saw that number. We're actually looking at the particular space I mentioned as primarily an office location, not as a retail location per se. (Kinda like it's not a serious comparison when people call my tiny concrete condo in downtown Toronto "expensive" in comparison to their giant houses in suburbia).
