How much is this Nikon gear worth?
Hey I'm a Canon user myself, but I found some of my grandpa's stuff lying around and am just curious as to how much it's worth assuming they are in decent condition. An approximation is fine, just want to have an idea.
1. Nikon D70S
2. Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5
3. Nikkor 75-240mm f/4.5-5.6
4. Nikkor 135mm f/2.8
5. Kiron 28mm f/2.0
6. Sigma 70-210mm f/4.5
7. Nikon Speedlight SB-50DX
8. Nikon Speedlight SB-800
Thanks!

The body and 18-70 would not be worth very much, bodies and kit lenses tend to depreciate rather quickly.
I think you would get decent $$ for the SB-800 since they are no longer in production and the SB-800 is a very good flash... helps too that there's a huge gap between the SB-600 (~$250) and the SB-900 (~$600) with nothing in between._______________

Nah I'm not selling anything. Just curious as to how much he spent before he passed away. It's all sentimental value now so sorry guys can't sell. :P

That Kiron 28mm f/2.0 is a somewhat legendary "sleeper" lens. I have one, sadly it has a stuck aperture coupling lever. Minimum focus distance is ridiculously small and it has a long focus throw -- great for general use on a digital body for those who are willing to use manual focus lenses.

use this site to see how much it's being resold at the pricing is US but we're at parity more or less. Sorry for your loss. The gear is good i'd keep it especially the lenses.

I have no idea really, it just makes me curious I suppose ahah. Just wanted a general idea.
It has been passed down to my dad and he uses it occasionally. Sometimes I play around with the gear too. :P
Unfortunately this one is broken I think. It has a rattling sound when you handle it. I'll mount it later to see if it still works.
Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. Yeah it's definately going to be kept for sure. Now I can get into flash photography!

depending on the condition and for the body, the actuation count, I'd say the D70S in good condition is 275-300 while the 18-70 would be 160-180
the 135 2,8 depends on the model but is a great sharp lens but not worth too much and I doubt it meters on that body
its nice quality stuff and 3 years ago it was serious amateur gear and still very useableLast edited by blackhawk; Oct 25th, 2009 at 04:30 AM.
