How are prescription glasses so much cheaper at PMall?

Just shopped around for glasses and settled and on a pair of Raybans.

Most opitical stores averaged around $300.00 and more, including the lenses.

Went to Pacific Mall. First store I went to first offered the pair for $220 including the lenses.

After agreeing to purchase, the price came out to $180, without me even negotiating. How can there by such a price difference compared to every other store.
Even clearlycontacts.ca have the frames at $180, not including lenses.

Are they counterfeit and is there any way to get them checked out?

Fake.

This. A plastic frame and two pieces of glass shouldn't cost an arm and a leg.
When given enough time, all threads on RFD can and will go off on a tangent.

Probably a much cheaper lens that won't last as long as a decently quality one.

I was told they sell higher quantity thus cost is lowered?

You can actually look at the model number at say Lens Crafters and Pacific Mall will have the same model number (in some cases). There are no bells and whistles, and if you break your glasses they won't repair them for free.

P.S. Found a good thread.

There ARE fakes in pmall, but the majority are authentic. Personally, I never noticed any stores selling fake ray bans (there's a lot of fake Prada, Gucci, Hugo Boss, etc. that they sell for ~$100-120, although it's normally the same 2-3 stores that sell fakes)

Honestly, retailers mark up glasses like 3x, so "retail price" is usually $300-400, even when it costs them $70-100 to purchase from the distributor.
The lenses you got are probably in-house non branded plastic lenses. These cost them like a couple bucks per lens.
The thing is, since there's so many optical stores in pmall, competition is pretty fierce. Most Chinese customers value price over everything else (speaking as a Chinese..), so if their prices aren't competitive, it's hard to keep their store in business :/
Which store did you go to? That's pretty honest of them to automatically give them to you for $180 even though you agreed to $220. Most stores wouldn't do that. They overprice to allow room for people to haggle.

(Source: I work part time at a Chinese optical store near pmall. We can most likely match the price you got them for, and I can confirm our raybans are 100% authentic - ordered directly from luxottica - I file the invoices hahah)

Think that's cheap? You've never met clearly contacts.
I've ordered $80 glasses from there shipped.

They're not name brand, but I really couldn't care less.

Sir you are another victim of a chinese counterfeit purchase, what's worse is that you paid $180 for the counterfeits when I could have gotten them for $75 in Dixon Flea Market.

I've gotten some for under $20 shipped during a promotion before, and they were great.
