how to record songs off the net?
I listen to online radio stations and love music.aol.com
great for when I'm home or at work. They play some great mixes from DJ's all over. I was wondering is there a way for me to record these mixtapes so I can listen to them on my mp3 player?
any help is appreciated.

or you can goto your volume control, then click the options tab, then click properties, then select the 'recording' button, then add the 'stereo mix' option then press ok...it should show up on the main volume window, now put the volume to the top and click select under it. Now record using Sound recorder. it'll record anything that is going through your speakers.
or use freecorder

Look for stream capturing software. The software varies depending on what type of stream you are trying to capture (eg. streambox vcr).
Other methods are lossy, since it records the signal being produced by your soundcard, as opposed to a direct stream rip.

the music collection from that site is awesome
i wrote a hack on getting the urls ages ago but it probably doesn't work anymore
you can use a program called URLSnooper
all you have to do is open up the program, go to the song website and play the song, the link for it should show up on the program
