How to ship IEMs / earphones?

I have some IEMs I am about to sell. They tend to come in small boxy rectangular cases that hold all the elements in suspension.

Is it good enough to just put the IEM back in its original package and ship it as is, or does the original package need to go into a larger box with padding material in order to ship safely?

It really depends on how the buyer wants to receive the product - ie do they want the original box in excellent condition? If they do (or that you are advertising that it comes with the original packaging), then package it as inside a larger box. Or you can put it into one of those padded envelopes with a bit of extra padding and hope that nothing crushes the envelope.

Might cost a bit more to ship but put the original box in a plastic screw top jar, packed inside a box.
