Buy yourself a cheap IP camera and have it record the hot tub. Find out who's dog it is and approach the owner about it. If they don't deal with it, then report them.

That would work, besides doing an entire system. What are some cheap simple options. Something thats wireless and records local to a hard drive

Wyzecam is a cheap option, you just need to ensure it's protected from rain/snow as it's not meant for outdoors. There's probably other ones that are meant for outdoors, but I don't know of any specific models off the top of my head. I can't think of any way to stop it other than dealing with the root cause, which is the owners. I live in a rural area too so I do sometimes see dogs roaming, but I've never had any problems (mostly because my dogs keep other animals away)

Thanks. I wonder if just a simple webcam on record would work to. I have a window or two close I could point it at, and just have it on record all the time. Just to catch it and have proof. Be able to show bylaw then at least. Unless its a dog I recognize, I wont be able to go to the neighbours and show them anyway.

I think I saw a thread with that type of cam on sale for $20 on here

Now that you put this is my head, I forgot my neighbour has some trail cams he uses to record deer down his coulee. Ill just borrow one for awhile. Just never thought about it until this suggestion

A motion detecting trail cam would be inexpensive and let you know who/what is responsible. Just use an SD card and check it on your computer in the daytime (or whenever).

Plus, trail cams are fun to see what happens on a rural property. We had two on our rural recreational property and saw all kinds of wildlife. If you have kids, that'd be something they'd be interested in.

A useful answer. Guess there are some actual useful members on this site. I am borrowing my neighbours, and unlike a security system, you can move it where ever.

Im picking it up tonight, I hope it catches something.

Regardless on what I have or not have, but what I do know; is that I wouldn't be such a pushover as you; while there are dogs running free around my backyard!

Lets take the summer time out of this, lets talk about the now. So how am I supposed to solve this then, sit outside and wait, in sub zero tempertaures, with a gun to shoot them. Not knowing their patterns or times when this happens.

Im being a pushover how, because I dont shoot random dogs? So instead of reporting this animal like I have, I go over with the animals dead carcass. The neighbours know how we feel about this dog, as its been chased out of our yard multiple times, carrying a bat and yellng at it.

I am not in charge of these people, they know what this dog does. Other neighbours have told me as well, that this dog wanders and causes issues.

These days, expecially with the ways laws work, I could get attacked on my property, kill or hurt the dog, and I could get charged for defending myself. Who knows? Im not willing to find that out at this time. But I will find out if things arent changing in the spring.

You seem to talk a tough talk as well. I assume from all this talk you take all matters with your neighbours and use a violent approach to it. Throw them around some?

Or are you all internet talk, no one will know. Personally, who gives a shit.

At least some that came in here commented some good comments and ideas, you, just are here to stroke your own ego. And stroke you will, alone
