How to store big can of Tomatoe

I went and purchased a big can of tomato sauce, it's like 2 litres worth of sauce. Can I just bottle it mason jars and leave it in a dark dry place or do I need to do the whole canning process of boiling the jars and let it air tight seal while cooling off? Does the chemistry of the sauce change once I open the big can of sauce?

I'd love to hear the experts tell me I can just bottle it in a mason jar and store it nicely but I'm afraid I might get hard pressed otherwise. Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist me.

Yeah I was thinking that, it's just I have a bunch of mason jars I'd love to put to use aswell and not sure if jarring them will make them go bad. But I can freeze if it's the only option?

If you can at room temperature it will spoil because there are invisible microbes you haven't killed off on all your jars and you cannot create a vacuum seal.
