How Is Toyota Sales People?
I had bad experience twice with Toyota, at Don valley north and Toyota Scar, they were plainly rude, and buy the car or leave attitude, and as for test drive, it was asking too much of them!
Similar experiences?

nope... but it also depends a lot on how you present/carry yourself when you get there.
I was at Don Valley a couple weeks ago looking at the lexus and the sales was very nice and asked if i wanted to go for a ride in the IS i was looking at. and after that just gave me the brochure, and told me when would be a good time to get my trade apprased and stuff.
very pleasant experience and i even got a card/letter few days later thanking for my interest

I think it's Hit and Miss. I was at the Whitby Toyota dealership, Guy tells me the truck i want isn't available for 2 months, Wouldn't budge on the price and offers nothing for my trade-in.
I went to Wietzes Toyota at Dufferin and Steeles. Very friendly, I was test driving my truck in minutes. Came down 500 on the price and gave me $350 for my Trade-In. I also had my truck a week later.Last edited by Carpe Diem; Dec 13th, 2007 at 09:10 AM.

I have rule of thumb for Toyota shopper in GTA. The closer you get to Markborough, the more chances you have to get an attitude from salesperson in Toyota stealership. Some of them are not even bothering themselves to get a command of English, having enough HK clientele to sustain their livelihood, and they don't hesitate for a bit to show it to you. Same, but to a slightly less extremes, goes for Brampton and Toyota salespeople from India. Generally I would say that Toyota's sales force in Etobicoke/North York/Vaughan/Thornhill/RH have more customer friendly attitude, but don't look for 5-star treatment here too. With neverending love affair between Canadians and Toyota, salespeople don't have to bend over backward to score a sale, and they do know it.

The folks I've dealt with at Burlington Toyota have been great. Some of the nicest car salespeople I've ever met...

Well, one gentlemen was asian, the other was indian, I wanted to smack them for the lack of interest in selling and lack of knowledge about the car they are trying to sell. Well, I ask a lot of technical questions, and I demand you know it, otherwise why are you selling cars, that might be just be me.
Lexus will always treat you well, you are buying premium car, and they are making money on you.

ummm..they are selling you a car, not fixing your car, so i dont see why they would or should know answers to technical questions. What they need to know is the options available, packages and pricing.
you sound like a jacka$$ already from this post ("demand" they know an answer?, "smack" them?", so its understandable they ignore or even be rude to you.

suprisingly ive found toyota sales people to be asses. but thats because they know their going to sell something at the end of the day.
best customer service was at the saab dealership near bayview eglinton. when i walked in just wearing a hoody and jeans they asked me if i wanted to test drive a 9-7x without me even utering a word.

What? Toyota sales people think they are the upper eshilon now because Toyota is tops in sales for 2007? And expect only to deal with people who are there only to buy? What is the world coming too? Do they think they are high-end car dealers now?
Sorry.. 2008, I think Toyota will be back down to Earth again.
For years, their cars were built pretty good...but GM is catching up with better line of cars for 2008.
I at Ken/Shaw a few months back looking at the Camary...no service.
The moment I went over to the Lexus side.. different story. I guess the sales must have been slow. The prices weren't reflecting the current market conditions so I left.
