how to wash slip-on vans?

i got a few slip-on vans, the one im concerned about most are my black and white checkered ones..
there are methods like using a toothbrush but i really dont wanna scrub and ruin the shoes.. any other methods?

i heard throwing them in a washing machine?
if so, wash under cold? half cup detergent? steer me in the right direction guys, thanks

its canvas, or at least most of them are. they can go through way more then clothing. just wash it like any other article in the washer.

if u wanna get rid of spots, tide to go sometimes works well, depending what kind of stain it is

I usually wash my shoes and sandals in cold with liquid detergent.

I think the liquid detergent probably works a bit better, not too sure.
