So this won't work for laptops without Thunderbolts 3 port?

given i have a 2018 MBP running Mojave, the NVIDA wont work. If this had an AMD, i would have gotten it in a heartbeat

Yes you must have a Thunderbolt 3 port

1070s are around $400 on sale, so 200 for a eGPU enclosure and 1TB HDD is pretty good

I'm pretty sure this is shuck-able. Sell the NVIDIA and replace it with an AMD.

TB1 and TB2 will work too, but you might want to use an external monitor to avoid the TB1/2 bottleneck.

I had ordered the regular one without the video card in it but cancelled the order when I saw that you dont lose as much performance with the alienware graphics amplifier. unless you plug it into another monitor you will lose a lot of the performance with this. just picked up one on ebay.
