You need to update the $1119.99 price in the title to $1199.99. Also the e-Coupon code is JAN17200 for $200 off. JAN17100 is only $100 off.

Yes it's an IPS display and LDDR3 is within specification so while not the absolute fastest, I doubt you'll notice it. The Spectre is one of the best laptops on the market, probably the only HP machine(non-business laptop) I've played around with that doesn't feel really cheap(don't actually own it but I've used it).

Missed the previous deal, 20% coupon + 8%ebates :(

But now seeing xps 13 has 2in1, smaller form factor with a fanless cpu, not sure if it will be a better choice than spectre x360

I bought a nice $1000 Pavilion from HP a year ago. it's rebooted itself several times a week. It was replaced under warranty once -- replacement did the exact same thing. As a consultant I have stopped recommending HP to clients. Just not worth the risks anymore. HP is the new Dell..

Don't buy Pavilion, buy Spectre.

There is an obvious quality difference if you've ever used both machines. Pavilions and Envy are cheap and junky, the Spectre is not. I typically avoid HP as well, the Spectre is my exception. Dell is the same, you buy an Inspiron 3xxx or 5xxx and you're asking for problems. The 7xxx is a lot better and the XPS is fantastic.

how difficult are returns with hp?

would like to upgrade the SSD, to 500gb, but i've never owned a laptop before so if I mess up, would I be able to return it or get it repaired easily?

30 day return policy, return shipping paid for by HP. Never returned an HP product before, so I don't know how hard the process is.

Anyone know if it would be possible to charge the laptop from a power bank? Is a specific usb c cable needed or would any do fine?

You wouldn't get enough power from a power bank to charge a laptop. Dell does make a specific battery to charge the XPS(that doubles as a power bank) but I'm not sure if anything exists for HP, I presume it wouldn't be cheap though.

Last day for the 200 off. I am considering pulling the trigger today. The xps 2 in 1 and upcoming surface pro 5 have me hesitating. There are pros and cons with each.

Can you modify it? I though that the RAM and ssd are usually soldiered on, on thinner laptops.

SSD should be m.2 format, that you can change/upgrade it. RAM maybe not.

thanks OP.
i am contemplating the Lenovo Flex 14-1470 from the Microsoft Store which after student discount is $899. Would this be a better purchase than the HP Spectre? I don't have any experience with Lenovo.
here are some specs:
- 14-inch Full HD touchscreen
- Intel Core i7-6500U
- 8GB memory/256GB SSD
- AMD Radeon R5 M430 graphics

Thanks in advance
