I created an account with HSBC since Motive Financial was taking forever to process my account.
Feel like I am missing out on all the 'earn $200 by creating an account with bank X today'
I was under the impression that major bank accounts were insured for up to $500,000.
Am I mistaken? Are all savings accounts only insured for up to $100,000 via CIDC?

DUCA is giving 3% until Jan 2020. I have had good service from DUCA and they insure upto $250K as part of Ontario credit union.

Fyi you only get 3 free transactions per month on hsbc account, and the interac limit is 5k.

On Duca you have to call them to move the money into the high interest account.

Received an email with this offer. Might not take advantage of this one since HSBC pays out interest in the middle of the month? Guess it's not that big a deal, but still prefer the end/beginning of the month.

I was targeted for this... is there a hard pull/check on credit for opening a HISA with HSBC?

Why do they require a hard pull to create an account? :\

I have a Advance account currently with HSBC, if I open the savings a/c and transfer my funds from Advance a/c to Savings account, will it be considered as new deposit?

Also I can still waive my Advance account monthly fee by maintaining relationship balance with HSBC in the Savings account?

Anyone please share your opinion on this?

Anyone has successfully link HSBC account to EQ or Tangerine? I tried last time and it failed the micro deposits due to the weird account number that they have. I remember that some numbers we must exclude but forgot the details

Want to go with DUCA, but not having everything possible to set up online without having to call them or go to one of their branches is a bit of a con.

Yes I'm on the fence on attempting to sign up with Motive Financial because of the posted experiences of some number of RFD members. Making me stay away from Motive Financial.

Considering opening an account with Motusbank TFSA and that $200 Simplii deal....but I heard some have had issues opening with Simplii as well hmmmm

Its legit, those who signed up during their last banking promo can vouch and I was one of them. I imagine the same experience when I go to close my account.
