Here are a few example that shows how ******** "reviewers" are:

http://www.businessinsider.com/htc-u-11 ... 017-5?op=1
That said, the Samsung Galaxy S8 has made it so that any phone without a super-wide display looks dated. The U11's side bezels are slim enough, but there's a good deal of "not-screen" space on the top and bottom. It's still attractive, but mostly by yesterday's standards.
Says who? Who even demanded super tall phones in the first place? Many would say that tall phones just look awkward and weird and aren't adapted to 16:9 content like videos. But yet this reviewer says that ANY phone that isn't tall looks dated.

Again, says who? How many smartphone users really said "oh, I'm so tired of hardware buttons, I wish my phone had software buttons instead".

Do HTC phones get good support with timely Android updates?

$8xx isn't cheap but like others have said, the price for flagships are at the $1000 mark. I'm looking for a fast, responsive camera that can take good photos of my kids who don't normally stand still. I know the IPhone can do it but IP8 will be well over $1k I expect which is out of my league.

Samsung doesn't provide updates regularly(using s7 which is still on 7.0). I am waiting for the new Google phones

How is the phone over priced when the closest major competitor is the Galaxy S8, which has almost exactly the same specs, but retails for $200 more?
Easy..garbage screens on HTC as usual and slow camera... the htc10 got high dxo score too but the camera was crap due to slow speeds and crap processing

The htc 10 had dxo scores similar to the S7 but the S7 destroyed it in actual usage and picture quality

HTC has a better track record of Android updates than Samsung. In fact, Samsung is one of the worst.

HTC doesn't really update their phones either

And with how poorly they are doing... doubtful they'll be around in a couple years for updates

I wish... google went to LG for their Pixel 2
Don't ask me why :(

HTC has one of the worst customer service in Canada... they do not even have their own service centre
just letting you guys know
Simple....oled screen from lg for pixel... unacceptable for flagship to have a LCD screen anymore

Lol what? HTC is one of the best at Android updates aside from Google themselves. Samsung consistently ranks as one of the worst.

Uh no. Nearly every flagship released/announced in H1 have LCD displays. Still very much the norm these days. Also, LG is new to small-medium sized OLED displays. They won't be supplying any phone manufacturer with OLED displays any time soon. Their first try at OLED display in a phone is only rumored to be the V30 in H2.

Got a s7 brand new and its already starting to freeze randomly and the software updates suck. This might be my new phone since it still has front buttons.

Isn't this the phone a bunch of big YouTube reviewers say to skip. The "BIG WASTE OF SPACE" phone that is over priced.
You're mistaking the new U11 with the U Ultra (although I don't entirely blame you since the finish on both phones are essentially the same)

That poster said his S7 was running 7.0 still....so are htcs

Not sure why you post about marshmallow

But your posts does conclude with HTC slipping due to their slashing of support as they stray further into restructuring mode

Also HTC warranty/support is non existent in Canada but that's a moot point as no carriers sell HTC in Canada anymore so that's why there's no service here

The biggest players samsung and lg do not...neither will iPhone 8

Lcd smartphones is for the second and third tier manufactures now. LG is making the new pixel as Google bailed on HTC due to limited ability of HTC as big bezels and LCDs are unacceptable for flagship phones

Google dumped 1B into LG to get oled for their pixel 2
