HTML Code for web page hit counter
Does anyone know where i can get HTML Code for a web page hit counter?....all the ones I've seen so far that are free look fine but it states that they will attach a link from one of there sponsors......I want to avoid that...be fine if it was sears or home depot but I'm afraid it will link to some shady virus infected site. Any suggestions? ...Thanks everyone
My web site was done withe office 2003.

You can always make the hit counter 1pixel by 1pixel, if you don't mind the counter being somewhat hidden.
Another alternate is to place the counter in a 0 pixel frame (not sure if this would work).

The thing is, you'll need some sort of server side actions to have this happen. You need to write to a text file or something like that to keep count of how many times a page has been visited. Plain HTML is good for static pages but isn't dynamic to keep track of such things. Do you know what languages/technologies your web server supports?

Counter code from Bravenet.com
They have quite a few snippets for html web pages. I got my counter code from them. You need to register for free and you can get the code. Pretty simple.
