I don't think so. They are speculating $17k USD entry price so you can expect this to be $19-20k here. I think they're unofficially aiming this at the Ford Focus market which looks to be entering at $22k giving Hyundai possibly more wiggle room in terms of pricing.

Some did mention that they are considering a turbo version soon after launch or at the very least imminent.

Up until a year ago, there wasn't much in the Hyundai stable to be excited about. It wasn't until they released their Genesis coupe and started revamping their old lineups and now this. Tiburon fan club was one of those things that existed within the selected few who couldn't afford anything nicer so they bought a Hyundai then riced it out or those who again wanted sporty on a budget but didn't want another Civic. Let's just say the gestation period is over and Hyundai looks to be taking the wraps off of their projects.

I haven't been much of a Hyundai partisan over the years but I definitely like this - and I'm nowhere near their target market. Even the Sonata is a decent offering. Yup, Hyundai has been coming along quite well of late.

I think it looks great, it would definitely turn heads to make people at least think, "what the heck is that?". Kudos to them, but again it looks like they are keeping on par with taking what works for all other car companies and mashing it all together to make a single all rounder great car. Can't wait to drive it!

This. Otherwise the aggressive-styling paired with a weaksauce engine would make for one dinky car.
