Nice!
I didn't like the ending of this ending though... "You are not alone"... something about it felt too corny for me :P

What happened in the book?
It's great that he survived, I liked this ending better than the theatre version, but personally, it doesn't make sense to me why the zombies stopped attacking will just because he had one of their own.

Well, the movie and the novel weren't very alike in my opinion, so it's hard to compare. They are vampires instead of zombies, he IS the last human alive instead of "possibly" being the last alive amongst other things. Although, if they adapted the novel into the movie, it would be pretty boring.

I prefer the theatre ending, this one would really defeat the purpose of the whole "Legend" thing.

actually i think it plays up more to the legend theme. I really liked this ending cause it really showed that the "zombies" werent just crazy dumb creatures. The theatrical version kind of played this point up (when the main zombie tries to get his girlfriend or wife back when she is caught but he cant because of the sun...and when they use roberts own trap against him). The reason i think it works better for the "legend" theme is because in the book hes the legend cause hes the like the vampire. He is the only one who is different from everyone else and is capturing the other creatures. I also thought it was kind of cheesey for him to sacrifice himself and then they find some city of living people. I thought if this original ending was the theatrical version i would have liked it a lot more.

OP should change the title to reflect that this thread contains spoilers
Particularly the previous post

I guess that's to be expected though since this is an alternate ending thread...

I think I like this ending better personally. I saw it a few weeks back when it got leaked.
I would have liked them to drive off to that camp though like the first ending.
Either way, they're making a sequel, so they're going to find an excuse to bring Will Smith back, so using the alternate ending would make more sense.
