I feel like McDonald's is getting too expensive.

Interesting observation:

The coupon: One can dine for $5.79 is more expensive than using the phone app to get $2.50 off of the average $8.19 combo price.
$8.19-$2.50 = $5.69 plus tax, saving ten cents.

Interesting info that I discovered (interesting maybe just for me): the coffee/beverage cup sizes are printed on the bottom of the cups.

I see the small is 10 oz and large is 20 oz. McD's nutritional info on their website says the medium is 442 ml or 15 oz.

Which is I think standard. Timmies from what I recall:

XS: 8 oz (Discontinued)
S: 10 oz
M: 14 oz
L: 20 oz
XL: 22 oz

They made the XL cup taller but slimmer so it looks bigger but holds not much more than the L.

Thanks for the Timmies info @danman227460.

Unless they've made the XL smaller, the following shows the XL as 24 oz:

The reason I found it interesting is that I know 7 Eleven promotes its small coffees as 12 oz and I just assumed McD's would have also been 12 oz. 7 Eleven also has their XL coffee (24 oz) on for $1 every Monday.

I guess it's just the RFD in me to always look for best value in everything.

If you have a 7 11 app, the small coffee is only 50 cents 2pm-5pm (never in the morning, lol)
A nice coffee break if 7 11 is near your workplace during the day though.

Anyway, back to Tim Horton's. Somehow there was also a myth that the XL and L cups are the same size because the XL is taller, but thinner.
This is not true at all.

Here is the video showing what you actually get: (a half cup more)

Ya it's been a while since I've worked there so I couldn't exactly recall the XL size. I guess a simple google search would have fixed that :P.

To be fair, it all depends on how you fill the cups. When I worked there, we were told to the lip, but it was standard training to leave a bit of space but we got tons of complaints about not having a full cup so the owner instructed us to do more. It was more company policy to save people from spilling over filled cups in their cars/themselves with hot liquids. From a math point, it is 4 oz. If you want to know how much that is, next time go and ask for an espresso cup from them. That is 4 oz. From a pure math point, you only only getting a fraction of a bit more coffee for 20 cents. Do I expect more in an XL? To be honest no idea because that is beyond my limit of coffee consumption. I would never be able to drink more than 10- 14 oz of coffee in a sitting.

To get back on topic. I find the lack of different options boring at McDonalds. It could be the holiday season but it has been a while since they have released a good, new burger. Everything is the same. I tried their Rosti Burger and that was underwhelming. I will be keeping an eye out to see if they bring back a BBQ style burger with the friend onions or even caramelized onions. It is just not fun paying 10 dollars for a meal when I can grab other food and get more filled.

Ever notice that the coupons are never good for the "new" burgers?
Sometimes there are coupons for special burgers occasionally, but most often the coupons offered are only valid on the usual menu choices...

Yep. Their 2 can dine are for the usual staples and I can't get filled on 6 nuggets anymore. I still can't believe they do include the morning wraps in their coupon rotation.

I never could get filled on 6 nuggets. That's a snack to me. They really should offer more.

Sometimes I wish they would give us the 20 nugget deal from the states. If not that, bring back the share meal. That was a good deal. I think it was like 15 for 20 nuggets, 2 drinks and 2 side of fries.

Yup. The share meal would be smart. 10 nuggets each is better than 6 any day.

Is the $2.50 off coupon always available in their App? or it's targeted
