I just had my first ...
BBQ of the 2007 Season
March 24th 2007
Steaks and a burger
Goals for this season:
-Turn the BBQ on by myself
-Make chicken/beef shawarma -- I FINALLY mastered tahini, now it comes down to making the meat come out moist

Tahini (closest I can get)
1 part tahini
2 parts yougourt
lemon juice (you can always add, but you can't take back)
garlic (add, but can't take back)
salt and pepper to taste
olive oil if it's too runny
water if it's too thick
add some vinegar if you think it could use some
parsley is ok
put ingredients in a container
mix with a hand-blender (key, stirring doesn't cut it)
if you don't have a hand-blender, use a food processor
Marinade (not the closest...but I guess it's ok)
Basically the same ingredients as above minus the tahini
The hard part for me is figuring out how to cook it...I'm going to try BBQ'ing this summer. I tried to do it in a saucepan...wasn't that good. Mind you, I used chicken breast (cubes) so it was really dry...

i know what you mean... i did steaks a couple weeks back, it was great.
the bbq is in the deck which is not attached to the house, so i dont use it too much during the winter.
i love bbq season!!

We keep our BBQ outside so once its gone for the winter, it's pretty much put away. its wrapped up in that protective sheet and all that, so im heavily anticipating a season full of grilling!!!!
Gonna have to wash it good after it sitting all winter though, not looking so forward to that! BBQ's are freaking MESSY_______________

Tahini is just Sesame seeds, garlic, and lemon juice with some olive oil to make it blend. S&P to taste.
