I lost my TOUCH in school!!!

I lost my lovely Touch in school yesterday.
Hoping to get it back from someone who got it, but he already turned off the cell phone and trying to sell it.
I just made my phone deactivated,
What else can I do?
Any advice???

How do you know he's trying to sell it? Or that it has even been found?

After I lost my phone, the first thing I did was
searching markets in Toronto, Canada and U.S.
after an hour,
I saw a post ,, some guy is selling his Touch for $150
which has no contract...
One more thing....
He only sells the phone itself and 2G memory card which I bought a few days ago.. >.<
Is it possible to sell TOUCH that has no contract for $150?
I think market value is much higher than that.
And it makes no sense that he does not has A/C adapter isn't it?

Hold up mate.

You said your Touch was from Bell?

Last I remember they were a purely CDMA company.

If not I apologize.

Nonetheless, don't worry too much about the touch. If you had the phone locked through the IMEI no one can ever use it.

Believe in Karma my friend.

Bell's CDMA phones still use ESN's not IMEI's. Soon they will use MEID though.. thats soon.. not yet though,... your phone can not be activated by any ohter customer at this time though

Ah I think Bell and Telus has lojack systems + black berries - once it is locked the person has 3 tries then the board on the phone is fried ...

He is lucky he is on Bell cause their is no Sim Card so the guy can't sell it... The person is going to drop it off at a Bell Store if he is nice ... or make keep it as a paper weight ...

Good Luck

OP, there is a difference between an iPod Touch and an iPhone...

Can't you go to your Bell store and ask them to try and track it? I don't see why they couldn't track it...

ESN number can be changed.

Actually, someone I know did this with a Telus phone. He found a phone, tried to activate it and was reported lost. Took his ESN number on his old cell and put it onto the new phone and didn't even have to call in to activate the new phone.

HTC Touch is not an iPod Touch or an iPhone.

Anyways, OP, if you report it stolen to Bell, it cannot be activated because the ESN is declared stolen, so unless the ESN is changed and they remove the sticker, it's almost useless (can still be used as a PDA). But keep prowling craigslist and ebay/kijiji for your area, might bring something up

I don't understand... if you think this is the guy, should you be trying to get his details so that you can "purchase" it? If it turns out to be yours, then call the cops.
