I need advice/mentoring
I had previous experience in PR/marketing and some market research from other countries, completed MBA from the U.S. 2 years ago and then moved to Canada. I've been looking for jobs here since, all kinds of jobs from entry to middle level in banking, small no-name companies to well known ones, and didn't get any luck at all ( oh actually I got responses from those companies with pyramid marketing formats and you know I had to run away). I live on a survival part time job now that pays the lowest salary. The job I want to pursue is in an accounting or finance or market research. I am ready to build up from scratch even though I am not young any more. It seems to me that in Canada there are certain career paths, one cannot jump in between even though he/she has transferable skills and qualifications. Looking back I find that my biggest problems are first of all Canadian experience, then networking (I know almost no one in the industry here). What you you recommend me to do with these drawbacks. In terms of qualifications, do you think if I study those popular cert/designation programs like CSC or CMA would help me at all? I would appreciate any advice you could give and look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.
