i need answer real quick, please help - memory related

Some guy offered me 2 registered DIMMS of 128MB memory in trade for something. What is "registered DIMMS", is it limited to specific motherboards?
Please answer, dont just read if you know what it is. Is this the ECC ram?
Thanks

It's limited to motherboards that can handle registered memory modules. Mostly Servers and Workstations motherboards.
The fact that you don't seem to know what they are implies you pretty much don't have a motherboard that will support them...unless you buy highend stuff for no apparent reason.
