I need new cutting boards

I just ordered a nice set of Wusthof knives and now need a couple nice wood cutting boards. Any suggestions on your favourite ones? Thanks.

I like epicurean cutting surfaces, I usually look for them at Homesense.

My main cutting board is a black walnut end grain boos block 2inch...oil it every 2 months.

Bought it from the cutlery and more site...forgot how much I paid but it was a lot...lasted me a few years and still in great shape and getting good use.

I just bought this boos walnut cutting board at Winners. It was $36 on clearance but I almost bought it at $79.99 full price a couple months ago. Glad it's a good one.

I prefer plastic over wood solely because I can wash them in the dishwasher.
Wood is nice but it's a PITA to clean with a small sink.

I have a number of cheap ($2) plastic cutting boards that I find really handy for small jobs. Got them at Superstore.

I bought a pack of flexible ones off Amazon for small jobs.

I do also have a bunch of restaurant grade ones similar to these: http://www.webstaurantstore.com/cutting ... 18245.html
Also that's damn cheap. I should order a few more...

Superstore has some gorgeous grained wood boards, pricy at $34.99. I first noticed them last week.

I miss the disposable Saran brand Cutting Sheets. They were so great for chopping things like nuts or cutting fish, cut and throw away. No residue on regular boards when cooking for guests with allergies.

I picked up one of those wood boards about a month ago - RCSS had a 4 day sale and it was about $20 (can't remember exact price) It's a beautiful board.

How I love my cutting boards. Have many different sizes and shapes for different things. My favourites by far are wood and bamboo, but don't cheap out, get something that's good quality. Check out Costco.ca, kitchen accessories, they have some nice ones. Bamboo is nice because over time it 'heals' itself from cuts.

I have a large 24x18 butcher block that stays on the counter and I use it for daily prep. An 18x12 bamboo that I use for cutting meats only. And a variety of smaller ones that I use here and there for whatever? Yes, I don't need them.

I just cut down a piece of end grain parquet bamboo 1.5" butcher block into 12x12 pieces... going to sand the edges and then oil them up and give them out as Christmas gifts. Its a piece we cut off a slab that we made a counter height kitchen table out of. But its too nice to use a knife on, so we just sit around it and eat ;)
That's my 2cents worth

Thanks for all the help. Very good advice in this thread.

Does anyone know if the Boos ones at Costco ever go on sale?

Too thin, htis looks good, but with being that thin, is prone to warping.

http://www.costco.ca/John-Boos-Solid-Ma ... 58700.html a lot more money, but one you can own for the rest of your life.

Edit to add http://www.costco.ca/John-Boos-Cherry-W ... 27530.html for a good quality board; I prefer maple and end grain, but this is pretty attractive for Boos quality at a reasonable price.

That cherry one is as thin as the original one I posted though.

What about this one? http://m.costco.ca/John-Boos-Solid-Mapl ... 45801.html
