Wow, that's confusing...
What drive letters are you using for your partitions? Which drives have the OS on them? Which drive has the pictures on them?
Are you sure the picture files are still there? What OS are you trying to use? Win2k?

I need serious help from the RFD experts plz !!!
hi guys
i recently formated my computer harddrive. well only formated one of the drives (B,C,E one of them, rather segatement) and somehow, my old xp system still shows up when starting the system (it says choose one of the following xp or 2000) note: i installed 2000 as the new system. and the problem is under D drive (which is my old xp system's installation drive) some files were not formated. and i actually want them because i think somehow i forgot to back these files up by moving them to E: ( i did cut and paste i think but i guess somehow some files were left behind) and these files are the photographies i took which means a lot to me. and the problem is when i double click on the folder it says i can't access it. and i can't even copy paste do anything to it. is there anyway to access that folder on D: and get my files out of there? thank you so much, for helping me out, if u hav any questions, plz ask me , i'll try providing a better explainition. thanksss

So What Happens....
What happens when you choose the XP at the screen boot-up? Do you actually go back into your old OS or is it just a remnant left over from when you changed to Win2k?
If you get into WinXp... Could you burn the wanted files to a disc?

thought i'd try to help...um are you logging into window 2000 and viewing this folder on the other partition which had windows xp on it? if so then the reason you can't get access to the folder may be due to the fact xp is not allowing permission to it. look up on trying to take ownership of the folder through windows 2000. sorry i dont' have link on hand but maybe this suggestion might help you get on the right track.

You have to reset the permission on the folder.
Right click the folder, go to properties, security, advanced, owner .. then change the owner to whatever account you are currently using._______________
