I need window well covers

I need these before the leaves start falling but can't find them anywhere. Please look at the pic and let me know if you've seen them around. I've tried multiple [rfdlink=87]home depot's[/rfdlink], ctc's, Lowes and found nothing similar.

Looks homemade to me. Plastic ones are easily available. Just get some hardware cloth and fasten to the top of your window well to do the same as the picture.

I've purchased clear plastic ones from Totem. They are only in AB, so I guess it doesn't really help you. They were around $30.

Those are not the ones that you want. Look for the clear plastic ones that sit on the ground and go up over the well to the wall. The ones that are in the pic allow and small seed from weeds to wildflower to fall thru to the crate to the bottom. This includes small leaves from locast trees etc. You can also use them as a mini greenhouse in the spring with your seedlings even if just to harden them off before planting outside.

The plastic ones are junk, when winter comes they will be brittle and break from falling snow/ice.

I'm looking for an alternative to the plastic. What other options are there?

I had the plastic ones and they are garbage. Our property is surrounded by maple trees so these steel ones are fine.

I'm looking for metal window well covers too.
The plastic ones aren't suitable because I want air flow.
I want the covers to stop young children falling into the wells.
Does anyone know where they can be bought in Ontario. It seems they're available all over the place in the US.

I need these too...I had Skunk fall into my window well and it stunk up to whole house for one year. Pet people wanted $500 to remove the skunk from the well...what a rip off. I built a ladder for skunk to climb up.

I found some excellent solid plastic cover ones at Rona - label says they are made by Conquest Steel. They have hinge system built in, so I can slid them in or out as I want. I tried standing on it, so it's pretty strong. Doesn't crack up like the cheap bubble ones I had before and isn't ugly like those metal.

I'm thinking about having some custom sized one's made up for me. There are some instruction on how to do it on the manufacturer website.

Let you know if they work out.
