I think i am hopeless..!!
Okay, I can't get my duron 1300 system up and running. I just want the hsf fan to spin on the mobo before I proceed and build it all together. I am using an Enermax 350 watt psu, 256mb pc2100 ram, duron 1300 cpu with all pins straight, Chaintech 7VJL http://www.vr-zone.com/reviews/Chaintech/7VJL/, and a vantec aeroflow. I can not get the hsf fan spinning with this set up. ALl parts are tested and I have tried another psu, a diff mobo, and a diff cpu all together but can not get anything to work literally. All of the jumpers are in place properly. I am working OUTSIDE THE CASE on a non-conductive surface and grounding myself always. I have tried 2 different ddr dimms in each of the 3 slots but nothing. So basically, I am asking, what am I doing wrong here. And can anyone please help me get this thing working. Thank you all for any info and if I didnt point something out, let me know.

Fan
What are you doing to get the fan to spin?
I suggest you just hook everything up and fire it up. The motherboard has a safety feature and will automatically shut down if the CPU begins to heat.

Did you try with a new PSU? Try that.
Plus try with a new PSU with it only powering up the mobo, HDD, ram. See if it turns on. Dont connect anything else. Clear the CMOS before doing this.

I think you better start learning the beep codes. I think someone posted it a few days ago.

Beeep codes, I didnt get any beep codes. I just got the fans to spin once. THen i went to put it all together and nothing. Go back to the bare essentials and still nothing...I think the power led on my case is faulty cuz i had to toggle it to get it to work...

Use a screwdriver or flathead and tap once on the power button motherboard pin-outs to turn it on.

The duron has an exposed core. Were you very careful while installing the heatsink? They are very fragile.
