I bought this laptop from Staples a couple of weeks ago, it comes with NVIDIA GeForce GT635M with 2gb of discrete memory. It also comes with 1 year of ASUS Accidental Damage Protection (anything accidental like spills, drops, etc.)

I'm happy with it :) Just the DVD is fragile looks too cheap and the touchpad kinda gets annoying with accidental touches

If you always use a mouse, you can just disable the touch pad. I've had a wireless mouse since I bought a laptop and never used the touch pad. I agree it's very annoying typing something and it jumps elsewhere!
Uh, yeah, I'd like to speak to a Mr. Tabooger, first name Ollie.

Here's the place to discuss what's on sale for Boxing Day.

FYI, for comparison, in the last month I found the following deals which I missed out on. I find the following to be all good to excellent prices. NOTE: THE FOLLOWING DEALS ARE NOT AVAILABLE

Lenovo 15.6" Laptop w/i5-3210M, Win 8, 4GB RAM, 500GB HD, 6-cell Battery - $450
HP Sleekbook 14" Laptop w/i5-3317U, Win 8, 8GB RAM, 500GB HD, 4-cell battery - $500
ASUS S Series 15.6" Laptop w/i5-3317U, Win 8, 6GB RAM, 24GB SSD 750GB HDD, 4-cell battery - $599
Dell Inspiron 15R 15.6" Laptop w/i7-3612QM, Win 7, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, AMD Radeon™ HD 7730M 2GB - $680
That's not bad price. Mine 15R is like 2-1/2 years old now. So looking for 15R deals.

I was looking at that laptop too, how's gaming on it? How much did you pay to if you dont mind me asking? It's around $779 at FS/BB.

I'm trying to see if I can find something with at least GT 640M card, since its based on next gen Kepler graphics.

I actually haven't used it for gaming yet so can't say anything in regards to gaming

Ultrabooks vs normat ultra portable laptop
I travel a lot on inter continental flights and dread sitting in a plane for hours with no power outlets. The in flight extertainment is mostly nothing to talk about so want to have a laptop with 6 plus hours battery + tablet + extra battery :-)
However I have read that it is very difficult or even impossible to switch battery on ultrabooks. This of course is not the issue with laptops.
Is this really so?
Can someone with newer ultrabooks/laptops please confirm?
Thanks

Really? It has an ULV processor, so I thought it would last much longer than that. Were you, by any chance, using the discrete graphic card instead of the integrated one ? O_O

I haven't done any gaming on it at all yet, but the battery itself is physically very thin.. not sure how that translates to capacity but imo it could have been much bigger physically (It's just a long strip that slides in haha most other laptop batteries that I've seen are 2-3 times larger in size so that might have something to do with it?

Or maybe not

Dont forget the Samsung Series 9 15" 4GB/128 i5 - $899 and Samsung Series 9 15" 8GB/256 i7 - $899
That definitely was the best deal on an ultrabook this year!!! I kept checking RFD everyday for the past few months for a deal on the Samsung Series 9 but still missed that deal as it was posted within an existing thread!!!

Kickiny myself for missing such an awesome deal...Dont think Boxing day would have anything close to match that deal!!
