I bought it too (with the GT 635M video at Staples), I think it went relatively unnoticed since it was at "regular" price on Black Friday (but has since went up in price the last time I checked)...I can also confirm 3 hours battery, the fragile DVD tray. I can play Starcraft 2 on med/high settings, haven't tried other games yet. I have a review in my signature if anyone is interested. I'm happy with it so far for the price.

definitely I was waiting for a score on a Thinkpad X1C or the S9 and somehow ended up with the 128 4GB i5 S9 for 829 (with some coupon stacking + credits @ stooples). Then thankfully 2 days before my return policy was up I see the $1600 model for $899 definitely can't be beat at the moment. Now I gotta look for a slim external HDD for this bad boy.

A week ago I went to order the X1C Touch. Someone had noticed a weird glitch in the online ordering system where changing the OS type dropped the price to $1100. I then applied a 10% off coupon. The glitch appeared to remove the touch display and leave the regular X1C display. Ultimately the price came to about $1000 + tax for a configuration that matched a standard X1C! Laptop hasn't shipped yet but if I'm lucky, maybe it will include the touch screen
(though not really expecting to)

in my humble opinion if you are going to use win 8 and plan to use the laptop for more than 2 years, it will be a mistake to not buy a laptop with touch screen.
