I am back in the Off Topics! :D
Anyways, is IBID (http://ibid.com.au/) the only place to buy the textbooks made for the IB curriculum? It is not available at [rfdlink=http://forums.redflagdeals.com/autolink/redirectpage.php?linkid=17]Amazon[/rfdlink] or Chapters...
Has anybody ordered from IBID before? What courier did they use, how long did it take to arrive, and were they any extra charges at the door (or postal office)?
I do not mind used textbooks, as long as they are in good conditions without too many markings.
One last question: are these textbooks even useful? :D I already got the Chemistry book (from school) and it seemed quite useful for not studying for what I do not need to study. :)
BTW, I survived IB Year 1!

Well, I got through without failing it. :) I almost failed my Mathematics HL course. :( My marks for all of the subjects just plummeted upon my entrance into IB. :(
Did you find the IB textbooks useful?LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked mrken for this post.

IB is a high school program?
So you just passed grade 9? That makes you about 14 years old?
I thought you were a lot older than that :|_______________

No I don't think they are worth the money. Not sure if there are new editions now but they have typos and mistakes. I think just getting the syllabuses are enough and your IB coordinator should have them, else you can hunt with google.

I had a feeling that the Chemistry version 2 textbook was not too professional... I had to pay $75 for that (through a class order). :( I know, I know, $75 is nothing compared to university textbooks, but it is still too expensive. :( Interestingly, the IBID website charges around $50 CAD... I do know that my school rips students off for textbooks. :(
mrspuff, did they just loan out the IB books when you were in IB? In which school did you attend IB?LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked mrken for this post.

I just received a quotation from the distributor Pronin in Australia, and the freight charges are $57 via UPS for two books!!
The total is around $150, so $75 for each textbook after shipping charges. There will probably still be taxes on delivery... They mentioned that the order will arrive in two weeks, so I assume that is shipped via UPS Expedited? Does that mean no brokerage fees?
Any less expensive ways to get the Mathematics and Physics HL textbooks?LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked mrken for this post.

Is $75 for one IB textbook reasonable?
Or should I just find something else to read during the summer? :D (Extended Essay? ;))LOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked mrken for this post.
