Do we see significant performance difference between ATI 9000 and 7500 series ?
Another question: could anybody confirm the spec for 2374 2U4: on IBM website it's mentioned that it is Win2000 but in the list given by ukhan, it seems to be XP Pro. So which one is correct ? I would imagine it's quite a hassle to switch from 2000 to XP and re-install all device drivers ?
Thanks
2374-2U4 is all sold out. Yes on the website the 2374-2U4 shows Windows 2000. I think it is a typo on IBM site.
I think it is not so much of a 9000 Vs 7500, but more of a XGA Vs SXGA. SXGA seem to fall into premium line while XGA mid class screen. SXGA has smaller fonts and can be anoying for some.

Thanks for the great info. I think I'd better go with XGA since I hate small font.

i'm sure you'll be happy with your pruchase. IBM makes good quality laptops, performance may not be hte best but for everyday use it's fine.

I am getting it for my parents
I think quality is the thing people should look for
even the r series is not as goo as the T, I still read good things about it
way better than junk like compaq, acer, dell etc
I was consider the toshiba but they dont have any laptop under 1500 with a centrino

I placed my order from the EPP part of the site early Dec 24, and have not heard anything from them yet. Did anyone who ordered at around the same time got a respond from IBM? Yea I know its holiday time and no one works, but I am excited to get it.

I ordered mine on December 23rd and have yet to receive anything besides an automated confirmation email.

It was previously mentioned most people are expecting them first week of January. If you call them they'll let you know when it has shipped, but will not give you a tracking number.
