free rinks? no idea.

however, too good pond in unionville (main street unionville & carlton road) is open for skating IF weather permits. they put flags up to show whether or not the ice is safe for skating.

But the rinks here such as milliken mills or markham community Centre charge like 2 bucks or something. At least when i last went.

yonge/finch has free public skating sat. and sun if i remember correctly last yr.

look it up in the toronto parks/rec guide....they have a list of times/places/prices.

also the markham and RH guide has a list too.

There's a pond for skating at Mount Joy lake at Markham Rd/16th ave, but from what I find, the red flag has been up for about 3 years now. It's either a) not cold enough, b) or the town just doesn't even send people to check anymore
