There are so many places to see and visit in Toronto, the most multi-cultural city in the world. Perhaps too much for one weekend. Of course there is the usual tourist attractions such as CN Tower, Hockey Hall of Fame, etc. But theres also Chinatown, Kensington Market, Yorkville, Eaton Center, Yorkdale Mall, Little Italy, Greektown, a lot of great restaurants all around the GTA. If you're into books, there are many used and discount book stores, cd/dvd shops, or even a walk on the Lakeshore or Yonge Street. I am sure I have missed many other attractions!

If you're coming anytime between Jan.28-Feb. 10 Toronto is celebrating Winter City Festival. Here's the site that has more info. Site contains discounts for attractions (as well of a "list" that might give you some ideas) and prix fixe menus at many restaurants:

The theatre is right downtown in a safe area.
