Identacall with an All-In-One HP 1522NF
I have 2 phone lines of which I hardly use the second. I'm thinking of going to one line with Identacall so that I can save more $250 per year.
My current configuration is a primary line with Call Answer.
A second line with just caller ID that is shared by my phone, answering machine, and HP 1522NF All-In-One.
The HP is currently setup to wait for the answering machine to answer and if it hears the fax tone, it takes over. What I want do instead with identacall is have the HP answer a distinctive ring pattern and if it doesn't hear a fax tone, ring the phone attached to its phone-out port.
The HP has a feature called Fax/Tel. This is the description of what it does:
Fax/Tel: In this answer mode, the product answers an incoming call and determines if the call is a voice call or fax call. If the call is a fax call, the product receives the fax from the call. If the call is a voice call, the product generates an audible ring to indicate an incoming voice call that you must answer on an extension phone.
So what I need it to do is support Identacall and also use Fax/Tel.
Before I cancel my second line in favour of Identacall, Does anyone see any problems with this setup? Some complications I can think of include call waiting, and the fact that my answering machine answers only after 5 rings which mens it could be 7 total rings before it answers.

Reason: Thought of possible problems.
