IE 7 is out. What is the deal?

Anywho, what is the big deal with this release? I just don't see it can kick Firefox's ass. I will stick with Firefox for the forseeable future.

True. I just updated my IE to 7 and I don't see any major changes. I may see some improvement if I were going to reformat my computer and reinstall Windows XP.

Oct 18th, 2006 05:36 PM #5I think any significant changes to IE lie somewhere underneath. I tried it back when they were in the Beta 1 stage. This is still RC1 - and not the final but I actually prefer the interface of IE6 compared to 7. Originally Posted by Menace

Worth the upgrade? I'm fine with Opera plus I'm not feeling the new look vista-ish... Where the hell is the File, Edit, etc.? (Like any Microsoft software, is it worth the upgrade?)

1) If you want the old menu bar, either click alt and it will show up temporarily. TO have it permanently do alt+v -> toolbar->menu bar or click the tools icon on the right hand and click menubar
2) to go back use backspace key or (alt+left arrow)
3) to go forward use alt+right arrow
4) refresh = f5
5) stop = esc
