If you could live in another time period, which would it be?
Any time period within past human existence. You would be just as smart as you are in that society in comparison to this one. Meaning if you live in cave man times, you’ll be as smart as a cave man, not somebody who has all this modern knowledge. We’re not talking about time travelling here.
Personally I would have liked to live in the area of the renaissance. Before guns. When battles where won by the sword, and logical thinking kept you alive. When actions equalled appropriate consequences. When people did something wrong, the penalty was huge (like if you stole and got caught, you would lose an arm, etc etc). When a man was judged by his craft and humble nature, not by his social power and possessions. When women were attracted to men who could prove themselves and provide for them, not men who look the best and have the most money. When family and friendships meant everything. When entertainment was an adventure, not technology. When you could bask in the moment of a strangers tale, drink a beer where and whenever you wanted and dance to cheerful music by a fire. When youre stead was by your side and the land was yours to journey. When legends were born and the wind carried your legacy.

If you want to live like the renaissance, just look at the Middle East. Except for the existence of firearms, most of the social moral codes are the same. There's a reason why people call those places "backwards".

If only that was exactly what it was like, I would agree with you.

Except that in the Renaissance era, most of us would be poor people giving the majority of our crops to the royal pricks. We would have a lifespan of 50 years, we'd bathe once a month in bath water that would first get used by the head of the family, then the wife, then the eldest and so on (i.e. sucks for you if you're the youngest). You would lack proper soap to wash your hands with unless you had enough money for the proper herbal remedies. You'd have no proper place to urinate or crap, the stuff would over time get mixed in with your crops.
Then you'd have the Catholic church ripping you off. They'd say that if you were sick, you had the devil's blood in you and that this had to cleansed from you by making you bleed it out. You would go there when you had the flu and they'd bleed you out and of course, the result would be you getting even weaker and the church officials would tell you that you hadn't prayed enough during your lifetime and that you did not worship the lord enough, thus there was no solution. You'd inform them that you've been praying since birth but they'd ignore your comments and take your money anyway.
Shall I get started on the Black Plague?
The Medieval or Middle Ages era was not as adventurous and noble as movies make it out to be. There were no little quests or journeys that 99% of the population went on. Most people were simply peasants who lived a life of misery, some had a bit better fortune and worked in a better trade (blacksmith or alike where the income and respect was a tad better) but compared to the unelected rulers who governed you, your life was hell.

I would live during the time of the dinosaurs. They'd never have seen a human being before so they'd be like WTF IS THIS PUNY CREATURE?
I'd then mate with them and create the most versatile hybrids ever.

That was bleak. I laughed when I read that diatribe about the church and their methods. I didn't know that. in my mind we are living in the greatest time and that iset some philosophical bsquare about living in the moment. my favorite is the 80s when I was so blissfully unaware of hardships of life.

Did you just watch Midnight in Paris?
Not sure which time period I'd want to be in; including place, age, all that good stuff.
Right now I'm thinking the 90's in North America as a teenager

Since the critera is sometime in the past and I can't say "the future", then how about the 1950's Leave it to Beaver era? Seems relatively pleasant without the capital punishment for stealing a loaf of bread or something. Birth of rock and roll. Start of modern conveniences, etc.

Right around 2000. I will start Youtube, Facebook, Redflagdeals and gather people to start a revolutionary touchscreen smartphone.
Might also time travel to the hippy era of free love.
